Consistent-Temperature Blankets Made in Loudon
(Article from the East Tennessee Medical News- By Rita Lee)

Gene Gammons, President of Adroit Medical Systems, patented his first thermal blanket almost three decades ago. Today, Adroit Medical which is based in Loudon, Tenn. is continually developing new ways to enhance their hypo-hyperthermal blanket technology.

The reason why Adroit Medical Systems' Soft-Temp blankets are more effective than ice, air or an electric heating pad is that the Soft-Temp blanket maintains a very consistent temperature. The blanket achieves this by circulating water in its fluid channels which are 45 percent larger than those of similar products. In addition, these blankets can support a 300-pound patient easily and are disposable.

Adroit Medical Systems' hypo-hyperthermal pads and blankets are used for many purposes. For example, the blankets can cool the body after a heart attack in a temperature-regulated manner. The blankets can also warm the body during surgery when there is lot of blood loss.

In addition, Adroit Medical Systems has a popular heat therapy system which can be used at the hospital or at home as a drug-free way to alleviate pain and arthritis. A portable Heat Therapy pump is hooked up to the Soft-Temp blanket, and the Heat Therapy Pump can qualify for Medicare coverage.

Adroit Medical, a company which has grown to 75 employees, also manufactures other medical products such as cooling vests and anesthesia masks and distributes its products nationally and internationally.
